Answers to the most common questions about ScribePace.
How do I create my first script?
Go to The Studio from the sidebar and click "New Script." You can either write manually in the dual-column editor or use the AI generation panel — fill in the product, audience, platform, goal, and tone fields, then click Generate.
What is the A/V editor?
The A/V (Audio/Visual) editor has two columns: the left column is what the creator says out loud, and the right column is what appears on screen (text overlays, B-roll, actions). This is the standard format used by professional video production teams.
How does the live pacing tracker work?
The pacing tracker counts your words in real time and estimates the video duration based on a natural speaking pace (~2.5 words/second). A 30-second script should be around 75 words. The tracker turns yellow when you're close to the limit and red when you're over.
Can I import an existing script?
Yes. You can paste any existing script into the audio column and use the AI to split it into A/V format, or manually fill in the visual column yourself. You can also import captions from a YouTube video URL via the Import Captions feature.
Why is my AI-generated script generic?
The most common cause is a vague brief. Instead of "skincare product," try "a vitamin C serum that reduces dark spots in 2 weeks, formulated without fragrance for sensitive skin." The more specific your product description and audience, the more specific the script.
What is the selection rewrite tool?
Highlight any text in the editor, then type an instruction in the AI panel (e.g. "make this hook more urgent" or "shorten to under 10 words"). The AI rewrites only the selected text — the rest of the script stays unchanged.
What is the Tone Engine?
The Tone Engine analyzes your script and returns: the overall tone (Conversational, Authoritative, Urgent, etc.), an emotional arc description, your 2–3 weakest sentences with specific rewrites, and 5 power words not yet in your script. Run it after your first draft to tighten the script before sending to clients.
How do I use tone context in rewrites?
After running Tone Analysis, click "Rewrite with Tone Context." This passes the analysis results back to the AI so it knows what to preserve and what to improve. Without this, rewrites can accidentally change the emotional register of the script.
AI generation is a Pro/Agency feature — what do free users get?
Free users get the full dual-column editor, live pacing tracker, tone analysis, and version history for up to 3 scripts. AI generation, the Hook Simulator, client review links, platform resizing, and PDF export require a paid plan.
How does the Hook Simulator score my hook?
It scores your hook on three dimensions: Curiosity (does it create an open loop?), Pattern Interrupt (does it break the scroll reflex?), and FOMO (does it create urgency?). Each dimension is scored 0–10. A hook scoring 7+ on any single dimension is worth testing; 6+ on all three is a strong hook.
How do I generate alternative hooks?
After scoring, click "Generate Alternatives." ScribePace generates 3 stronger hook variants based on your script's content and the dimensions where your current hook scored lowest. You can swap any variant into the script with one click.
How do I send a script for client review?
Open the script in Studio and click "Share for Review." This generates a unique link. Your client opens it in any browser — no account or app required. They can tap any line to leave an inline comment and approve the script when they're happy.
How do I see and resolve client comments?
Client comments appear in the Comments panel in your Studio view. Each comment shows the exact line the client highlighted and their note. Click "Resolve" to mark it done — the client sees it as resolved on their end too.
How does the voice-synced teleprompter work?
Click "Generate Teleprompter Link" in Studio. Send the link to your client. They open it on their phone, tap "Voice Sync," and the script scrolls automatically as they speak — the speed adjusts to their natural pace. No app download needed.
Can I update a script after sending the teleprompter link?
Yes. The teleprompter link always shows the latest saved version of the script. If you make changes after sending the link, the client will see the updated version next time they open it.
What is a client workspace?
A workspace is an isolated environment for one client. It has its own Brand Vault (brand guidelines), its own scripts, and its own contact email. All AI generation inside a workspace automatically follows the Brand Vault rules.
What should I put in the Brand Vault?
Voice and tone guidelines, audience description, key messages, words/phrases to use and avoid, CTA preferences, and any legal or compliance restrictions. The more detailed the Brand Vault, the less you need to explain in every AI prompt.
How many workspaces can I have?
Free and Pro plans do not include client workspaces. The Agency plan ($79/mo) includes up to 5 client workspaces. Contact us if you need more.
How do I connect a video to a script?
Open the script in Studio, go to the ROI Analytics tab, and paste the YouTube video URL. ScribePace fetches the view count, like count, and estimates hook retention and revenue based on industry benchmarks for your niche.
How is hook retention estimated?
Hook retention is estimated based on the hook score from the Hook Simulator combined with the video's like-to-view ratio. It's an estimate — for exact retention data, check YouTube Studio's audience retention graph.
Can I export the ROI data?
Yes. Agency plan users can export a CSV report from the ROI Analytics view. This is useful for monthly client reports or for building a data-backed rate increase pitch.
How do I upgrade my plan?
Go to Settings → Billing. You'll see your current plan and upgrade options. Click "Upgrade to Pro" or "Upgrade to Agency" — you'll be taken to a secure Paddle checkout. Your new plan activates immediately after payment.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Billing. Cancel from there — your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, then reverts to the free plan. Your scripts and data are never deleted on cancellation.
How do I get a refund?
Email support@scribepace.com with "Refund Request" in the subject line. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. See our full Refund Policy for details.
What happens to my scripts if I downgrade?
Your scripts are preserved. If you have more than 3 scripts and downgrade to free, you can still view and edit existing scripts but cannot create new ones until you're under the 3-script limit.
